Michael Orlando is a corporate and intellectual property attorney in Del Mar, California with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, LLP, a 600 attorney, international law firm. Michael works with start-ups and emerging companies, as well as Fortune 500 corporations, in action sports, sporting goods and active lifestyle apparel and equipment, as well as consumer products, e-commerce, software, video games, advertising, entertainment and life sciences.  Michael’s practice includes a broad range of transactions, from venture capital financing, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions to licensing, manufacturing, distribution and endorsements.  He is also part of the firm’s international business team and is fluent in French.  He has represented clients in transactions all over Europe, South America,  Asia and the Pacific.  Michael is a founding member of Connect San Diego Sports Innovators, a non-profit accelerator dedicated to helping emerging sports companies in Southern California grow and find capital.  Michael is a frequent speaker and contributing author for various events and publications, including IASC, ASR, Malakye.com, and Transworld Business.  Michael is licensed to practice in both California and Hawaii.  Michael lives in Carlsbad, California with his wife and 3 daughters.
