Jim Watson

Born in San Francisco in 1974, Jim started surfing the frigid waters of Northern California with his Father in the late 1970s. He attended St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco where he surfed and ran track and field. After graduating in 1993 Jim attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania where in 1997, he earned a BA in History. Landlocked in P.A., Jim made every effort to surf the eastern seaboard from Rhode Island to North Carolina and he also lettered in NCAA Div I Track and Field. During college his family relocated to Malibu Ca. and Jim has resided in Southern California ever since. Jim now spends most if not all of his free time either travelling to various surf destinations or in the waters of south Orange County where he resides in Laguna Beach. When the ocean is flat, Jim is found either fishing or in the mountains with friends or family. He also volunteers his time with Wheels to Water, a not for profit organization that donates 100% of its proceeds to spinal cord injury research.
Jim started his financial service career at First Interstate Bank in 1995 while he was attending college. Since First Interstate was purchased by Wells Fargo, Jim moved to City National Bank’s commercial banking group in Beverly Hills Ca. He focused on real estate and entertainment clients at City National. After 4 years with City National Jim had an opportunity to work for Wells Fargo Bank in both their asset based lending group and their commercial banking group. For several years at Wells Fargo, Jim focused on financing businesses in the retail distribution segment and more specifically, the action sports industry. He has assisted and financed companies in the surf, skate, snowboard, motor cross, swim and MMA industries as well as companies with international requirements. Currently, Jim is a V.P. of business development for US Bank in Newport Beach, Ca. where he continues to focus on providing businesses with products and solutions to their daily banking needs. He provides financial solutions to all companies regardless of their position in the business cycle. Jim and US Bank can help companies in a start up position, to rapid growth, to companies that need assistance in a turnaround situation. US Bank is a “one stop” financial service provider with domestic and international capabilities.
